Love Sri Lanka is the brainchild of the Sri Lanka Tourism Alliance. The Alliance consists of a like-minded group of professionals from Sri Lanka’s private tourism sector. When the Alliance started the Portal, and its related social media feeds, soon after the Easter Sunday outrage, it supposed that only Sri Lanka’s travel industry would be interested. This wasn’t the case. Apart from a very supportive local and international travel sector, the public, past travellers to the island, current tourists and the communities connected to the industry in the smallest of ways, all pitched in. The result is an ever-expanding Alliance, brought together by the one aim to support one another as the island returns to normalcy. Love Sri Lanka is also supported by YouLead, a USAID-funded, four-year program implemented by the International Executive Service Corps (IESC) to improve technical and vocational education and increase the employability of young people in Sri Lanka.​​​​​​​
